Congratulations All

We Did It!!!

After many years of under-development the Robins are looking to transform the ground into a fit for purpose stadium that will allow us to continue to progress through the football pyramid.

On the cards for improvement (in no particular order) are:

  • New dugouts
  • Improvements to the pitch
  • An additional three turnstiles
  • Improved floodlights
  • Improvement to Public Address system
  • Emergency lighting systems in all spectator areas
  • New changing rooms
  • Extending the main stand to include new seating & facilities
  • Secure car parking
  • Additional toilet facilities
  • New covered area behind the Club House End goal
  • Development of the Dugout Side of the ground
  • Extend the stands behind the Clink End
  • Modifications to Club House entrances

The Club will be looking at costings for each project but in terms of development each stage will be set so they can be completed and not interfere with other future projects therefore a complete plan of the stadium will be produced in due course of how it will look. The Committee have already met with the Supporters Club to highlight their plans for the future which were well received.

The Community Stand…

During the 2011/12 season and following Frome’s promotion to the Southern League Premier Division the Club had to improve its facilities and increase it’s seating capacity – in doing this a project was started to raise £56,500 to complete the work.  The Club would like to thank the following people and individuals who contributed to the appeal:

The Football Stadia Improvement Fund provided a 50% grant of the total project cost of the project with: £28,269

The whole appeal got underway when Steve Jupp and Teresa Graham  completed a sponsored walk from Shepton Mallet to Frome that raised £1400.

A Frome based grant fund called the Frome Development Community Interest Company were very generous in awarding us £5,000 to the cause.

Local company TBT Limited donated £2,000 to the appeal while Frome Rotary Club also handed over a cheque for the same amount as did the Frome Town Supporters Club.

The Club were delighted to receive a £500 cheque from Frome Town Ladies as well as several fund raisers by the Youth Section bringing in around the same amount.

Jamie Malley raised nearly £150 with a football quiz and an 80’s disco by Paul Carver and Louise Coate brought in £250.

Andrews Coaches kindly gave £360, a fund raising match between Supporters and Committee raised £641 and players, supporters and Committee brought in additional money by growing moustaches for a month.

The House at Woolverton put a sporting evening with Ron ‘Chopper’ Harris on for the Club raising over £1000 and Kevin Corcoran did a sponsored event that gave the appeal over £600.

There was also plenty of raffles and collections made during the course of the appeal.

People also pledged £50.00 to join the Stand Naming Rights draw which was won by ??? and had the stand named after them for the 2012/13 season.
